Advancing Historically Black Colleges and University Participation in Asynchronous Learning Networks

Workshop Overview

There is a growing awareness that higher education is facing an extraordinary array of new challenges and demands, and the methods that have been used in the past are not sufficient to meet all of today’s challenges. Collaborating with the Sloan Foundation and ADEC, North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University (NC A&T SU) will host a one and one-half day workshop designed to demonstrate Asynchronous Leaning Networks (ALN) to HBCUs in the surrounding areas. This workshop will include faculty, administrators and instructional technologists from eight HBCU institutions.

All of these institutions are involved in ALN and are committed to furthering the development of the area. The workshop is being designed to provide input from participants, input from outside experts including Sloan-C and ADEC as well as experiential learning opportunities during the session.
