How to Apply Transfer Credits

Step 1: Submit official transcripts to the Office of Admissions
(Undergraduate Students)/School of Graduate Studies (Graduate Students).


Step 2: Admissions Office/School of Graduate Studies evaluates academic course work such as English, Mathematics, Humanities etc, and some non-academic courses, provided there is a close match. All courses that do not have a close match are transferred in with a 000 extension. For example ENGL 000 or MATH 000.


Step 3: Admissions Office/School of Graduate Studies sends your transcripts to the department that is responsible for your major field of study and asks for recommendations for non-academic course work and for those with a 000 extension.


Step 4: Your department of major field of study makes recommendations to the Office of Admissions/ School of Graduate Studies for non-academic courses and for 000 courses based upon the needs of the program of the department that you are applying.


Step 5: The Office of Admissions/School of Graduate Studies completes the course transfer process by entering the transfer information into the records system.
