Course Demonstration

The goal of the Online Course Demo is to familiarize North Carolina A&T State University students with the online learning environment. Currently, North Carolina A&T State University is utilizing Blackboard 7.3 as its Academic Service Provider (ASP) for all of its courses.

After reviewing all sections of the demo course, the student should have a good understanding of Blackboard and the benefits and challenges that exist with distance learning. To access the online course demo, please do the following:

  1. Go to: http://blackboard.ncat.edu
  2. Click the “Login” button and use the following:

    Username: guest_online
    Password: demo

    Note: This login and password gives you access to the online demo course only.
     

  4. You will be taken to the “My Institution” page.
  5. Click on "[Online] Course Demo for Students" in the "My Courses” area to access the demo course.

Note: Some features have been disabled in the online demo course, but will be fully operational in a live course.

Access and Course Information

North Carolina A&T State University utilizes Blackboard as its academic service provider for online course delivery. To login to your online course(s), students must complete the following steps.

Step 1: Contact the Mrs. Eve Andre for your PIN number PRIOR to establishing an
email account. { (336) 334 - 7567 or evea@ncat.edu }

Step 2: Establishing an NC A&T SU Email Account (If you have an active NC A&T SU email account – go to Step 3.)

Visit: http://www.ncat.edu/~accounts/request.php.

The following information must be supplied in order to acquire a new account:

New accounts will only be provided to Validated Students.

Account creation requests are completed within 48 hours. However, most accounts will be available in less than 24 hours. Specific availability information will be provided during account acquisition.

NOTE: Student MUST send out a test email and receive a response to ensure email is working properly. Please check your NC A&T SU email daily!

After receiving your NC A&T SU email account, please allow at least 24 hours for the system to update before proceeding to Step 3.

Step 3: Login to Course(s) on the first day of class:

Effective Spring 2008, the website for Blackboard is http://blackboard.ncat.edu (please bookmark or add to favorites addresses). 

Your login is your NC A&T SU Email Username
and your Password will be your email password, which is the first four characters of the username plus the last four digits of your Social Security Number (SSN).  See the example below.

EXAMPLE

Email address: waters@ncat.edu
SSN: XXX-XX-1234

Username: waters
Password: wate1234



Students should log into their course(s) on the first day of class to ensure that everything is working properly. If you have trouble with accessing your course, please contact the Center for Distance Learning IMMEDIATELY. { (888) 498-6752 or distance@ncat.edu }

Also, if you are deployed, please email your instructor and Eve Andree as soon as possible. She can be reached at evea@ncat.edu.

The testing mode for online courses is at the discretion of the instructor. However, unless otherwise indicated by the instructor, online testing is the utilized format. If you have additional questions regarding testing, please contact Eve Andree, (336) 334-7567 or evea@ncat.edu.
