MORRISON HALL RENOVATION

The pictures below follows the renovation of Morrison Residence Hall.  This project includes a comprehensive to a 121-bed residential facility.  the building is on the National Historic Register and did not meet the current fire safety codes or ADA requirements.  This renovation will correct these inadequacies as well as provide an elevator addition to the east end of the building.  As a part of this renovation, a Central Chiller Room will be constructed in the basement of Benbow Hall which is adjacent to Morrison Hall.  The basement has been underutilized for some time now and will be ideal for a Chiller Room.  This Chiller Room will have the capacity to serve five neighboring buildings.  This project also received the 2004 Restoration Award given by the board of directors of Preservation Greensboro Incorporated.  A picture of the award acceptance follows the construction pictures.  Click on the gray arrow to scroll through the thumbnails and click  the thumbnail that you would like to view at the larger scale.

The work during the restoration of Morrison Hall was recognized by the board of directors of Preservation Greensboro Incorporated.

The board nomminated NCA&T and this restoration project for the 2004 Restoration Award.
